Our School
About our School
Discover Tavan Elementary School, a transformative school in the heart of Arcadia, where education goes beyond rote learning.
At our school, children are inspired to not only master content, but to engage deeply with it. We believe in the power of innovative teaching and hands-on learning, guided by dedicated instructional coaches. Through inquiry-based instruction, students collaboratively tackle challenges, nurturing their problem-solving skills. Our team of reading specialists ensures every child’s literacy journey is enriched.
In our close-knit community, students thrive in small groups, setting individualized goals in English language arts and math. Together, we provide specialized support, tailoring learning experiences to meet each child’s needs. Tavan teachers work together in accountable, collaborative teams, or ACTs, to foster growth and achievement.
Our school’s rich history resonates through generations of teachers who call the neighborhood home, creating a unique bond. With an active parent-teacher organization, we value the partnership in nurturing young minds.
Tavan is an AVID school, where learning isn’t just about information, but about harnessing knowledge to make a difference.
About our Campus
Tavan Elementary is a public neighborhood school situated in the heart of the arcadia neighborhood, at the base of camelback mountain. Tavan is a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school in the Scottsdale Unified School Dstrict.
Home of the Wildcats, Tavan Elementary opened its campus in 1954 and is a familiar landmark in the Arcadia residential neighborhood. The physical site is composed of twelve buildings, with each classroom door opening the outside to enhance collaboration and learning opportunities. With multiple sports fields, playgrounds, gardens, and learning spaces, there are multiple opportunities to enhance learning. Tavan’s northern border is Arcadia High School, giving the school opportunities to collaborate and partner with Arcadia staff and students.
